Turning Teleseminars Into Podcasts – Marketing With Audio And Video

In: Business

Hari Karam Singh and Guru Kaur decided that, instead of travelling and teaching workshops in person, they could maximize their efforts and reduce their time and expenditures by reaching people globally from the “comfort” of their homes. They use teleseminars and podcast marketing to draw people to their Be The Woman You Were Meant To Be course. They have increased their search engine rankings and use social media and social networks to market themselves with audio and video. As always, this show is brought to you by the Commercial Creation Center – personal assistance and simple software to help you promote and build your business by marketing with audio and video. ************** NOTES: Background

Founder of AncientBohemia Ltd. â?? a digital and interactive media production and consultancy company in London

Partnered with Guru Kaur to build Regally Graceful. GK is a spiritual teacher with a strong corporate background. RG is about addressing the issues in our daily lives from a spiritual perspective and with a practical outlook and professional experience

My passion is building conscious business and creating spiritual technology

Building Be the Woman You were Born to Be…

I met Guru Kaur in her Kundalini Yoga class in London. She was a big influence on me getting a handle on my life. She used to travel a lot to teach internationally which was very taxing physically and also limiting to those who couldnâ??t attend week long workshops and yoga festivals. We had the idea of using audio/video and social technology to break out of the time and space limitations and bring together global audience.

Started with a weekly â??teleseminar preview callsâ?? for her Be the Woman You were Born to Be… course. We advertised through niche lists, itunes, our other websites. We launched with a pilot group and began writing the course.

Goals: Convenient and practical for intelligent women who are busy and professional. Fits into your schedule rather than vice versa. Still maintain the personal intimacy of a closed group dynamic.

Power of podcasts, beyond time, beyond bounders…

Be the Woman… begins with a 42 day course, daily â??audio postcardsâ?? professionally recorded, a daily action; transcripts for everything so its your choice: audible or visual. Each week thereâ??s a longer teleseminar podcast and a video assignment

Be the Woman… also has a private online social community called the Inner Circle â?? itâ??s like an enlightened Facebook – runs on the Ning.com platform. Its a place for women to support each other, get direct private help from Guru Kaur. We also have recipes, guided audio yoga sets, discounts at online shops, special music and meditation for the course…

Regally Graceful Radio:

Created to address co-ed topics and recapture the â??livenessâ?? of the preview teleseminars. Also designed to attract guests through whose lists to market. The website is a funnel into our products.

Pros: Diverse and incredible content which we didnâ??t write! Great connections / networking. Content will eventually go into a book and other forms. Buildâ??s impressive public image.

Cons: The interesting people for our topics didnâ??t always have big lists. Time consuming and more content to promote (see below)

What Iâ??ve learned in Marketing

1. Content != Marketing â?? Content needs marketing. We created a podcast to market through. But the podcast needed marketing too! Another way of understanding: Attractive (content + search engines + word of mouth) versus proactive marketing (JVâ??s, guerrilla-style stuff). Also know that the easier it is to do (ie free directories) the less effective it is.

2. People donâ??t care what you know until they know that they care â?? Have a diverse range of consumables, short easy-to-consume snippets to longer more involved commitments. Similar with prices on your products.

3. Only surefire and quick marketing is advertising â?? building relationships, creating content takes sincerity and time. If you want something NOW, advertise, especially online.

4. Consistency â?? Make your marketing part of a campaign. One-off things seldom bring results and lead to disappointment. Consistency and repetition builds momentum

5. Donâ??t ditch on style if you can afford it. People judge websitesâ?? â??sizeâ?? by its appearance. Fake it â??til you make it.

6. Read Jay Conrad Levinsonâ??s Guerilla Marketting and Joe Vitalesâ?? Hypnotic writing
