Everyone Is Invited

Revelation 3: 4 Yet you have a few people in Sardis who have not soiled their clothes. They will walk with me, dressed in white, for they are worthy. 5 The one who is victorious will, like them, be dressed in white. I will never blot out the name of that person from the book of life, but will acknowledge that name before my Father and his angels.

Note that God says that He will not blot out the name of the person from the book of life. I love the fact that EVERYONE’S name is originally in the Book of Life. Everyone thinks that He writes their names in the book when they are saved, but the truth is that He wants EVERYONE to be saved and gives everyone an opportunity. He knows who will and will not accept His invitation, but He loves them and wants them with Him all the same.

THAT is the kind of good, good Father that we have – not necessarily like the earthly fathers we have known. Some of us may have had kind fathers, others abusive, others absent in attention or body. But that is not our Heavenly Father. He loves us like a mother loves her unborn child.

Questions for the day:

1. How does your earthly Father differ from your Heavenly Father?
2. How does your Heavenly Father’s goodness surprise you at times? By this I mean that you never knew that’s how a father could and should be?
3. How can you praise Him today for that goodness, love, mercy, kindness and faithfulness that He wants to lavish on His children?
