The Correct Order of Rejoicing and Being Glad

This is the day that the Lord has made. We will REJOICE and be glad in it. Ps 118:24.

I believe the order of those two verbs is very important. If we CHOOSE to rejoice in Him, gladness follows after rejoicing. It’s not the other way around. You can’t “make yourself” be glad, just like you can’t “make yourself” have love, peace, joy, patience, kindness, goodness, meekness, faithfulness or self-control, because these are fruit of the Spirit. They are only BORNE in our lives as the Spirit dwells within us, like sap runs in a branch and allows fruit to bud.

If you do nothing else today, make it your mission to simply stop and spend some time in His presence, recognize His existence, here and there, to be mindful of Him all throughout the day. Make it your mission to find SOMETHING to rejoice about every day, no matter how small.

1) What do you want God to do for you today? Speak it out loud to God in prayer.
2) What does God want you to do for Him today? If you don’t know, ask. Once you do know, do it.
3) What is your scripture for the day? Write it down and look for how God will make it come to life as you meditate on it this day.

Have a blessed day, Pretty Princesses!
